At Dow, protecting our employees, our communities and the environment is part of everything we do and every decision we make.
Our safety program includes employee training, facility maintenance, procedures that ensure best practices are followed and emergency response planning.
Our on-site emergency responders are highly trained and participate with mutual aid emergency response organizations - local partnerships of industry and municipal emergency services that works to respond to large-scale or extended incidents.
Dow is committed to the well-being of our communities. That's why we have community advisory panels, participate in community committees and send information newsletters to the residents and landowners who live close to our operations. We also prepare communication plans to keep our neighbours informed in the unlikely event of an incident.
Responsible Care® is a voluntary initiative within the global chemistry industry that promotes the safe handling of products from development, through manufacturing and distribution, to disposal. Dow is a founding member of this initiative.
Responsible Care® companies go through extensive verification processes and look to improve performance on all aspects. To learn more and to see Dow’s most recent verification report, visit canadianchemistry.ca.
The goal for Dow’s operations is to eliminate all injuries, prevent adverse environmental and health impacts, reduce waste and emissions and promote resource conservation at every stage of the life cycle of our products. Each employee has a responsibility to ensure that our products and operations meet applicable government or Dow standards, whichever is more stringent.
