Welcome to Dow Canada

Dow has been proudly innovating in Canada for more than 75 years. We develop basic chemicals and plastics used to make products in many sectors, including personal care, transportation, health care, home construction and many more.

Dow Canada is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta and has manufacturing locations in Fort Saskatchewan and Prentiss, Alberta; West Hill, Ontario; and Varennes, Quebec.

Dow’s Canadian operations started in 1942 to produce styrene at the request of the Canadian government. Styrene was needed for the production of rubber, which was in high demand due to the Second World War. The facility was Dow’s first international project.
